Location, one of the Marketing 4 P’s, is proving to be a real stumbling block for Google Local Search. As noted, there is a good deal of Google Local Business Center confusion.
Bill Slawski has an interesting Google patent that discusses Ambiguous Locations. It notes that Google may dip into information submitted from people who may have added to Google through their own personalized maps if regular sources for locations such as Yellow Pages seem deficient.
